Hammond Homes is a family-owned and run business based in Mandurah and the Peel region servicing all local areas.
Originally, from the UK, James first learnt about building techniques, bricklaying and stone masonry from a young age, following in the footsteps of his Father.
After leaving the UK, James settled in Mandurah in 2009 for a year bricklaying with a team and then was given an unexpected opportunity to move to Kalgoorlie to develop his skills and career further. Following the earthquake of 2010, he worked with local Builders to rebuild Kalgoorlie and Boulder, specialising in utilising his Stonemasons ticket on the Grade 1 Heritage listed buildings. Alongside this, James worked on commercial projects as well as many residential properties.
After his 4-year adventure in Kalgoorlie, James returned to the Peel region with a wealth of knowledge and experience, ready to further his building career.
Initially, he continued bricklaying before taking a slightly different path working closely with a local pool company and installing swimming pools throughout Mandurah and the Perth area. It was during this time, James gained his building licence for commercial and residential buildings, starting off with renovations and unique, challenging projects which are often avoided to take on, to get to where Hammond Homes is today.
This led to the birth of Hammond Homes in 2020. A company that prides itself in being family-run with clients being able to speak directly to the owners, rather than various staff and supervisors. In meetings with two other building companies when contemplating putting in a pool renovating my old garage and turning it into a gazebo and building a new garage.
